BaliBoyne Who We Are

I'm a long time lover of the unique Balinese culture and art. The problem is trying to get all the souvenirs, art, etc. back home with you. Back packs or suitcases can only handle the smallest of objects, and shipping them home is expensive. |

On one of my trips to Bali I bought half a dozen small wood carvings and took them to the local post office to have them packed and shipped home. I had bargained well for each of the items, perfected over the course of my two months visit, but the shipping cost was triple what I had paid for all the items! They took 3 months - arriving Christmas Eve but just in time as many of them were gifts. How can a traveller buy items and get them home without this hassle? Thus was born my web site since Feb. 2000, - travellers will hopefully find my range of Balinese products akin to their liking and not have to worry about how to get them home - just order them from my secure web site. Having a secure product line from the local Bali artisan is an ongoing, but pleasant challenge. Relationships have to be formed and cultural differences in doing business requires much patience and understanding. My goal is to be able to offer the local Balinese artisan more for his efforts than he is currently receiving while cutting out much of the middle layers between the artisan and the consumer. Ideally, the 3rd world Balinese artisan should one day be able to sell directly to the Western customer. In the meantime I'll hopefully be able to assist this process from being in Bali (especially during Ottawa's winters) and ensuring reliable delivery. Of course if you can't get to Bali you can still shop as if you are there :) (also see my "Investors" page for how you can secure 40 weeks in Bali & profit share in "BaliBoyne Inn" for your investment)Tel. us at: |
